Guild of American Papercutters
Turning cut paper into art....
Members of the Guild endeavor to learn, educate and promote original papercutting as an artform to, and among: artists, historians, supporters of the art, collectors, and the general public. The Guild encourages knowledge of traditions and acceptance of exploration through its newsletter, traveling exhibits, a biennial papercutting conference called "Collection," and members’ workshops and demonstrations.
This Little Rescue Book for Women in Crisis... is a collection of 70 whimsical paper cuttings, cut with tiny curved nail scissors by artist Catherine Winkler Rayroud. The images depict her journey as a woman and her need to make sense of what it means to live in a female body.
